A Parade to Celebrate the Olympians!

We came together for one last chance to celebrate.  This magical time of the Olympics and Paralympics were over.  London has been gearing up for this event for 5 years and now it is all over except one last time to show these athletes our appreciation.

We came with old friends.

We made new ones.

We came dressed in our flag capes.

We made our signs.

We wore silly fingers.

We came ready to wait a while for our heroes.

We even had the policeman who organized the Mexican waves!

And then it started...  Everyone knows that a proper parade starts with..

Horses!!!

And then came the lion - a symbol of Team GB

And a band.

And then the athletes came!!  Some had medals...

Some did not.

Some I recognized like Mo and Jessica Ennis.

Some I didn't.

And they kept coming.

With smiles to light up the world!

And all too soon, they were gone.  And all that was left was

The band.

And everyone knows a proper parade always ends with the horses.

But a parade this special ended with the trailing plumes of the Red Arrows.  A fitting show of respect to this talented group of athletes who captured the hearts of millions.

Thank you London for
